Focusing on the hospitality sector of China, domestic tourism has continued to rise from 1.8 billion arrivals in 2008 to an expected 2 billion arrivals for 2009, buckling the global tourism trends. As domestic and international arrivals to China are expected to continue to grow in the medium to long term, an extraordinary opportunity awaits for all industry stakeholders. However, sound strategies are necessary to harness these opportunities.
